It works with any standard Wi-Fi router to set up stronger dual-band connections in hard-to-reach places, giving you seamless wireless coverage throughout your home or office. RE220 offers APS (adaptive path selection). A dual-band or tri-band range extender can use APS to dynamically choose the best backhaul connection between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz to make sure the RE router has the best connection and, as a result, keep better Wi-Fi performance overall. Similar to the NETGEAR AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender (EX3700-100NAS), The maximum wireless transmission rates are based on the physical rates from IEEE Standard 802.11. The specifications for range and coverage, as well as the number of devices that can be connected, were set based on tests done under normal use conditions.
